Delta 9 is here and Reward has it!
A few weeks ago we gathered around a speaker phone to speak directly to our exceptional laboratory managers at Xtracts about our new Delta 9 gummies.
We had one major question: How are these gummies legal when Delta 9 itself pretty much isn’t?
We wanted to hear the details directly from our team that makes them. We wanted to make sure that in addition to using the highest-quality ingredients, we were also adhering to state, local and federal laws around the main psychoactive cannabinoid found in recreational and medicinal marijuana.
We also want to be fully educated so that we can communicate to our clients and customers about the differences between Delta 8, Delta 9 and even Delta 10.
They gave us that information. Now we are passing it on to you.
Let’s start with the basics and a little background on our lab, Xtracts.
As the first licensed industrial hemp processor in the State of Tennessee, Xtracts creates consumer products from hemp grown on their farm, via their proprietary manufacturing processes. Holding interest in three additional manufacturing operations and a variety of brands, Xtracts is uniquely vested in creating the highest-quality products manufactured in compliance with cGMP regulations and packaged in an FDA registered facility. As a result, Xtracts has been a trusted product/brand developer, and a white-label manufacturer, since its inception.
Impressive. But how are you able to sell Delta 9? Isn’t it illegal?
Ask any retailer and they will tell you that selling hemp-derived products is challenging. While the 2018 Farm Bill set the stage for selling hemp and CBD, there were still questions around the legality for Delta 9 THC. How to bring products to market while remaining compliant with FDA and federal regulations?
Our solution has been to create a line of full spectrum gummies that contain only naturally-occurring molecules from the hemp plant, including Delta 9 THC. Our Burl’s Baked Goods Full Spectrum Gummies are an engineered product, containing precise, consistent amounts of cannabinoids in each piece.
We have found this blend and these dosages allow consumers to dial-in their desired effect by consuming between one and three gummies. This is in contrast to higher dosages that may not be suitable for consumption by some consumers, and that could cause impairment that interferes with daily routines.
Our full spectrum gummies are manufactured to exacting specifications and contain several beneficial cannabinoids. You will find them to be very consistent. The lower milligram per piece will allow you to dial in the proper dosage to achieve your desired outcome.
Rest assured, we will be introducing other edible products in 2022 through the Burl’s line.
Sounds great! But what IS Delta 9 THC?
When people are looking to get high, Delta-9 THC is the primary psychoactive compound in hemp and cannabis flower and it does the trick. Delta 8 is less potent and more of a “body high” while Delta 10 is even LESS potent than even Delta 8, but has a “mind focus” effect.
Because Delta 9 THC is psychoactive and allows people to get high, the law restricts the amount of THC in a product to be limited to less than 0.3 percent. That is why CBD products containing THC have less than that legal limit, while other CBD products are THC free.
When you are talking about gummies, you are talking about THC in terms of weight. So to remain within the legal limits of Delta 9 THC, our D9 gummies are manufactured to be consistent in weight, flavor profile, and texture. That way we consistently offer to you, the consumer, a 3.3 gram piece that contains 10.5mg of beneficial active cannabinoids (1mg each of CBC, CBG and CBN), plus 7.5mg of D9 THC. This amount is well within the restriction chosen somewhat arbitrarily by the government.
Ok, I’m sold! But why should I take Delta 9 gummies?
Research indicates that the Delta 9 endocannabinoid is directly connected with maintaining health and balance related to :
- Stress and anxiety
- Muscle pain, chronic pain and inflammation
- Experiences of pleasure and relaxation
- Mood elevation
But know that Delta 9 can have side effects, especially if you take too much. Finding a dose that works for YOU is important, which is why Reward offers such precise dosing options in our lower concentration gummies so consumers can accurately choose a dose that works for them. While relatively harmless and not permanent, taking too much Delta 9 may include anxiety, paranoia, dizziness, mood alteration and decreased motor skills.
Oh, and you WILL most likely fail a drug test. So there's that.
On the flip side, Delta 9 can increase creativity as well as focus and concentration. It really is different for everyone, depending on your own personal chemical makeup and the dose you ingest.
Rules for purchasing Delta 9 online vary from state to state, and it is up to the consumer to understand the limitations and restrictions when making a purchase.
